There are so many medical offices that could not be ran without the administrative employees or the assistants that help the doctors keep up with their work. In the dental industry, this fact is just as much true as it is in any other medical industry. The Dental Assistants that work in an office setting or any other medical facility setting are a very important aspect to the workings of the practice. Without these Dental Assistants to help, there might end up being communication problems, clerical mishaps, long wait times for the patients, among many other problems that could occur.
Nobody really would know the effects of not having Dental Assistants on staff except the offices that may have been short handed. They know exactly what happens when there is not that dental assistant right there taking care of the jobs that need to be done that the dentist just does not have the time to do. Dental Assistants are the first people that the patients see when they walk into the dental office and most of these patients have anxiety about being in the dental office and most of the time the dental assistant is there to ask them the required questions and make them feel as ease.

The Dental Assistant is the one that is there to help the patients through the first stages of their dental visit by giving them their x-rays if needed, by asking them questions about the way they take care of their teeth, and many other initial very important steps that the doctor needs to know about before he or she even steps foot into the examination room. Knowing this information that the dental assistants give to them lets them have a heads up on the patient's history so that the time they spend with the patient can be used on the task at hand of why the patient is at the dentist office in the first place.
Dental Assistants today can be people who have not had a lot of training or they can be people who have certifications and are registered with special organizations. They can be people who plan on staying with that type of medical career or they could be people using the Dental Assistants position as a stepping stone to working on computers in the administrative aspect of the medical field or in laboratory work or in many other medical fields that they could advance up to.
